Thanks to a partnership between Cleveland Building Restoration, the Bricklayers Northern Ohio Regional Training Center and Lakeview Cemetery, apprentices from Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 spent one week in October completing restoration work on two mausoleums.

Held May 31 and June 1, Max Meese took first place in the district competition, earning the right to compete this fall in the Ironworkers national apprentice competition. Iron Workers Local 55 (Toledo) Apprentice Mark Vajen placed second and will also compete in the national competition.

At the onset of the coronavirus, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, registered apprenticeship programs and other educational centers had to either modify their schedules or shift to online learning.
