Laborers’ Local 310A claimed the 36th Cleveland Building Trades Softball Tournament championship.
The victory denied IBEW Local 38A the chance to three-peat as champions.
The annual three-day event began on Aug. 31 at James D. Park in Parma and featured 16 teams in two divisions. The loser bracket semifinals and championship took place the morning of Sept. 2 during the Fifth Annual North Shore Federation of Labor AFL-CIO Labor Day Festival.
In the B Division, Plumbers Local 55 won two consecutive championship round games over Glaziers Local 181 to claim the title.
The A Division championship game was close throughout the first few innings, but the Laborers used a walk-off homerun to run-rule Local 38A.
The softball teams played amid windy and cloudy conditions with a few sprinkles mixed in, but corn hole teams were not as fortunate.
A steady downpour, forced the postponement of the cornhole tournament and a make-up date, including date, location and time, has yet to be announced.
